Housing Scam Warning
It has come to our attention that our invited speakers and delegates may have been contacted by companies or individuals claiming to be affiliated with the MENU-2019 Conference, in regard to their accommodation. Please be aware that this is a scam sent from a company named Business Travel Management (BTM).
More on housing scam
If you are targeted, the company will send you an email or call you to entice you to purchase rooms at our ‘partner hotels’, one of these hotels is called ‘Hotel Hampton Inn Pittsburgh’. BTM will then send you a credit card authorization form from DocuSign or RightSignature. Please DO NOT give out any of your information to this company as this is a scam.

The MENU-2019 Conference is not affiliated with Business Travel Management, they have used Google to find you as part of an upcoming conference and your University’s’ website to get your phone or email details. The MENU-2019 organizing committee takes your privacy and security seriously, and can confirm our registration system has not been compromised.

If you receive contact from BTM, or another ‘travel agent’, or get sent the DocuSign/RightSignature request, please contact the MENU-2019 organizers via email at mcs-menu-2019@andrew.cmu.edu .

We have reported BTM’s interest in our Conference within Carnegie Mellon University and to appropriate authorities.
