The funds for these awards come from the National Institutes of Health and DSF Charitable Foundation. SCAN is highly committed to inclusiveness: we encourage applications from individuals historically under-represented in the neurosciences. Travel Awards will be used to defray costs of attendance for those who may not otherwise be able to attend. Note also that anyone who needs assistance to attend the conference (child care, accommodations) can indicate this when registering (whether or not they receive a travel award); funding has been allocated to assist with family-care expenses and accommodations that make the conference accessible to those who wish to attend. The organizing committee will select awardees based on the candidates\u2019 stated need (addressed in a cover letter) and qualifications.<\/p>\n<h4>Eligibility criteria:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must be full-time graduate students, post-doctoral research fellows, or early-stage researchers (within the first three years of a permanent academic job, or earlier) conducting research in human auditory cognitive neuroscience.<\/li>\n<li>To be considered, applicants must commit to attending the entire SCAN conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Application procedure:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the online SCAN registration form for your status (Faculty or Post-doc\/Graduate student)<\/li>\n<li>In the form field for \"Travel Award,\" upload a PDF of your current curriculum vitae and a brief cover letter (no more than 250 words) that addresses:\n<ol>\n<li>How attending SCAN will advance your research and\/or career<\/li>\n<li>How your research addresses current questions in human auditory cognitive neuroscience<\/li>\n<li>Who can verify your trainee or early-career status (e.g., current research training supervisor, director of the graduate program, or chair of the department)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For full consideration, <strong>applications must be received by April 30, 2020<\/strong>. Applicants will be notified of award status as soon as practical
